Baby :)

Celebrating Head Coach Clark
So, I the reason why I started this blog is to keep everyone up to date on our baby :)  On July 29th I found out I was having a baby.  We started trying to get pregnant in May of 2010-Right after Adam was named HEAD COACH!!!

Adam and I were taking one last big vacation-compliments of my Dad to Greece.  We had gone to Jamaica the year before and had usually taken a nice vacation each summer since we were married, so we thought this would be our last hurr-ah before we had kids.  Adam and I made it our 5 year anniversary gift to each other and we decided to try to start having a baby there.  It was such a beautiful country and it was everything I had dreamed of my whole life-we felt like we were on our honeymoon all over again.

Adam was on his way home from a convention and I was working from home.  We were having all the coaches over that weekend to celebrate the new season and staff.  I thought it would be a good idea to possibly take a test to make sure I could drink that weekend.  I took one and it immediately turned positive.  I was in shock and disbelieve.  I was so excited but also wanted to make sure that it was really happening.  I immediately called my friends Emily and Cara and told them what had happened.  Both were both in shock and excitement.  Emily had been trying to telepathically get me knocked up since we left Denver and was so happy when I told her.  Cara made me start chugging for 1118 seconds, so I could take another test to make absolutely sure I was pregnant.  It turned positive again.

Before Adam came home I called my mom and told her the news.  I sent her a photo of the test and she was so excited and happy-she showed my grandparents immediately. Adam wasn't going to be home for another few hours and I couldn't even concentrate on work.  I just sat there in disbelieve and excitement.

Positive Pregnancy Test
In Greece I bought our first baby item-a stuffed animal with a little sweater.  I put the 2 tests in the bears sweater and waited anxiously for Adam to come home.  After another hour wait, Adam finally came home and I greeted him at the door like usual and told him I had a gift for him.  I made him close his eyes and hold his hand out...I handed the bear to Adam and he looked down at it and smiled, but then he looked down at it again and REALLY stared at it.  He said-are you serious?  And had an expression on his face that I had never seen before, he was so shocked and happy.  I told him YES and he hugged me so tight and started tearing up.  He was so speechless.  After that we called all of our parents.

Football

Football has taken us many places.  Adam and I got married in 2004 and moved to Lamoni, IA where Adam was a defensive secondary coach and strength and conditioning coach at Graceland University.  Adam's first football job.  I remember dropping him off for the interview, he was so handsome and nervous.  He got a call during my mom's end of the year concert and he was offered the job.  Adam helped coach the players win the schools first conference championship in 30 years.  We spent 3 seasons at Graceland and built many good relationships.  Lamoni however was not my cup of tea-very small, very Amish and racist.

In 2007 Adam accepted the job as the Defensive Coordinator at St. Ambrose University.  We thought for sure now that we were moving back to my home we would start a family.  We bought our first house-which I absolutely fell in love with and I started into real estate.  It was such a good time in our life, we were surrounded by friends and family. Adam helped St Ambrose win another Conference Championship and was even selected as the MSFA assistant coach of the year.  Then all of a sudden we were moving again for a better opportunity...

2007-2009 we lived in Wheat Ridge, Colorado and Adam was the defensive line and strength and conditioning coach at The Colorado School of Mines.  I loved Denver and we had such a good time going out there with friends and enjoying the outdoors.

In 2010 we moved to Silver City, NM!  Adam got offered the job as the defensive coordinator at Western New Mexico and 2 months later was named head coach.  It was awesome.  The coach left for other reasons and it all worked out perfectly.

So that is where we are now-living it up in Silver City, NM-our 4th home in the our 5 years of marriage :).  Its crazy moving so much, but I love meeting new people and experiencing the different cities.
