Baby class / Zumba

Tonight Adam and I had baby class, it was about breastfeeding.  Adam went early b/c my zumba class ended at 6:30, it was cute he played baby bingo while i was gone.  The weather was a kind of cold and snowy, but not bad, but the class must have thought it was too bad to come in though.  We were the only ones there except for 1 other couple-who is legitimately 10 years younger than us.  They are juniors in high school.  It was interesting and we learned a few new facts.  Afterwards we got Chinese food, I was starving!

Relaxing at home & Birthday

After coming home from Denver, I was totally wiped out.  I was seriously exhausted.  I fell asleep at like 6pm that night and Adam took care of me.  He has helped out so much since I've been pregnant and it's so nice.  He has never complained once and he tells me how much he loves me and that i'm a beautiful baby vessel.  He has been great.

We relaxed by taking a nice bath and then eating a home cooked meal.  Although, I love eating out when i'm in Denver, a nice meal that's not filled with fat is always so good after traveling.  I was happy to be at home and just relax in my own bed.

On Friday Adam took me out to dinner for my 29th birthday.  It was also his largest recruiting weekend.  He had 16 players in from all over and their parents.  He was so sweet and he didn't even work on Friday night.  It was nice to have all the coaches take care of everything.  They are a great staff.  I couldn't believe that he wasn't going to great everyone the night they came in-he said his staff was taking care of it and he wanted to spend time with me-it was the best present ever.  I also got my first "mom" birthday card-Simpsons of course.  It was cute, it was from both Adam and Caden.

Denver Recap and Baby Shower

Traveling to Denver and back was good, but also tiring.  I was really looking forward to coming to Denver, Emily hosted an amazing baby shower for me and it was so much fun.

Sushi night
I flew to Denver Tuesday morning and worked in Golden through Friday.  It's always a little hard working from the office.  I usually have a horrible computer, no phone and I get distracted a lot.  I love being around all my friends though, it's really fun seeing them daily-I do miss them a lot.  But, I do have to say, I am able to get more work done at home.

Alisha (Rachel's girlfriend) and Colin (Emily's husband) both got new jobs so the first night we celebrated their awesome new jobs.  Alisha will be a police woman in Boulder and is going through the training now and Colin is the new municipal prosecutor for the city of Lakewood.  Both such cool jobs.  We went out to sushi and had ice cream of course later.  I love eating out with friends when I go up there.  Such good eats and convo.  It's funny how professional all of our jobs are but we act so goofy around each other.

The rest of the week flew by and Sat was my baby shower.  It was so fun.  Emily, Rachel, Alisha and Vicki planned a little beach themed party for me and it was so cute!  Emily made these cute surfboard/palm tree cookies and we had other fabulous foods and awesome drinks thanks to the gays-they really do make the best bartenders and most hilarious hosts.  The party was so cute and fun, it was really nice celebrating with my friends.  Everyone did a TON of work to get it ready, they made everything thing seem so easy-even with their little guy Jay (Emily's son, who i consider kind of a nephew-Caden will totally think it's his cousin) having bronchitis and an ear infection and feeling horrible.  But, Jay was feeling much better for the party though it seemed.  I loved the party and it was so fun getting more stuff for Caden, you don't realize how much you do actually need for the little guys.

Thank you everyone who came and hosted-it was an amazing party and I appreciate all the love and support!  You guys are the best!
Baby shower party!  Missing Colin :(

Emily and I-Emily is due July 3-with a girl :)

Staying Busy While Caden Grows

Caden is growing and the days are dwindling until he is here. Mimi is still doing pretty well, but sleeping has been a little more difficult lately. We are accumulating lots of stuff for him, but we still need a lot, babies need a lot. Mimi continues to work and travel, which can't be too much fun for her at this point, but she has to. We will be driving to San Diego next week for our last baby shower, it will be a long ride for Mimi, hopefully she is not too uncomfortable. I have continued to stay very busy with football as always. Recruiting is very busy right now, we just had our second official visit weekend, which make for long days. It went well we got more commitments and our recruiting class is beginning to come together. We still have a lot of our top players who we are waiting to make their decision. Football will continue to keep me very busy up to the minute Caden is born, then we will be even more busy, but it will be great.

Baby Class

Last night Adam was seriously cracking me up in baby class.  First of all we're the only ones without braces and over 21, so we seem super old to everyone, but Adam was acting like he was 10 (only for about 5 min though)  It was hilarious.

Here is what happened:  I brought gummy bears to class and I looked over and Adam was splitting one of the bears in half, but crotch wise. Then he bit off a gummy bears head stuck it in between the other gummy bears crotch.  So basically, it looked like the gummy bear was giving birth.  I seriously almost spit out all my water and was laughing.  It was pretty funny.  Pretty practical too since we were talking about the birth process and c-sections.

I used to squat but now I plop

So, when it comes to going to the bathroom in public, I'm a pro.  I never sit down and I just squat and get out of there.  I barely touch anything as it's just a germ mine field.  But, it's getting harder and harder with my giant belly!  I can still squat when I go #1 but #2 is another story, i just plop down now.  NOW, keep in mind I ALWAYS use those covers, I mean come on, who wants to put their butt somewhere where 357105723950273 people have sat before-GROSS!  So, long story short, I'm now a sitter :(

Back to the 303

Tonight I'm headed back to Denver for work.  I will fly to Alb. tonight and then to Denver in the AM.  It's much easier flying out of Silver City, than driving 3-4 hours to an airport.  I just can't do it anymore.  I get to tired and restless.

I'll be in Denver Tue-Sunday and Saturday Emily is throwing me a baby shower!  I'm so excited!  It will be super fun.  I can't wait to see everyone.  We're also having a baby pool party at my hotel on Friday night.  That should be hilarious!

Janksgiving!

So, I've been craving a Thanksgiving meal.  As many of you know, Thanks giving is my favorite holiday, b/c you can gorge yourself with amazing food.  I've been having a craving for green bean casserole lately and i figured if i was going to make that, why not make the entire meal!  So, last night i made a mini turkey breast, stuffing, green bean casserole, and potatoes.  It was so delish.  Java and Blitz even gobbled up their mini plate i made them.

Baby Thursday!

I never thought in my life I could love something the way I do now.  I haven't even held Caden in my arms yet, but my heart is filled with so much love for him.  I feel an overwhelming urge to care and protect him and to fulfill everyone one of his little needs.  It's such a different love that I share with Adam.  I love Adam with all my heart and I'm so in love with him.  Each day I feel like we just got married and we are still on our honeymoon.  He takes such good care of our family and loves me so much.  We truly are meant to be together and grow old together.  But, now that we are adding to our family and have made something that comes from both of us, it's so amazing, I can't even describe it.  My heart melts every time I look at our little ultra-sounds of Caden, I cry every time I think of holding him in my arms and I fall more and more in love with Adam every time he talks to my belly and does cute Dad things.

It's amazing how Adam and I's life has changed so much in the past year.  We are so looking forward to growing our family and taking care of our new baby.  It's amazing how precious life really is and how amazing it feels to actually have someone depend on your every move and grow inside you.  I'm so thankful to God for our baby and thankful we have loving family and friends to support us.  Caden is going to grow up so loved and cared for.  And to think our little baby will be coming into this world all because two people fell in love.

Wall art for Caden

Ok, so I still need to level and move closer together, but here are some paintings I did for Caden's room yesterday.  I used the leftover paint we had for his dresser for the backgrounds and then mixed some primary colors to make the oranges and greens.

Pitch Perfect Picture

Adam and I really hate posed pictures, but my sister in-law Carrie took one of my favorite pictures of Adam and I together.  It still looks posed, but it looks very natural and both of us are actually smiling in the pic.  Usually one of us looks goofy or we are doing some sort of face.  I love it!  Thanks Carrie!  Here is her website: Pitch Perfect Picture

Big Boy!

Caden-28 weeks and 3 days
Today I had a doctor's appointment and due to Caden growing so much, the Doctor said I could have another ultrasound if I wanted.  Of course I grabbed at the opportunity.  He is measuring a week and a half early.  My very first due date-which they say is the most accurate is 4/7.  So technically that makes me 27 weeks tomorrow.  But the little guy is growing so much that they put me at about 28 weeks and 3 days.  He now weighs 2lbs 11oz and is a healthy normal growing boy.

The ultrasound technician had an opening while I was there so I squeezed in-I wish Adam had been with me, but he has been so busy recruiting, he is swamped with work-plus it was last minute.  I got to see my little man again and he was moving around a lot, at first his little butt was facing us and then he turned around.  The Tech was so nice she even took a few 4D shots of him for us.  He looked so peaceful and happy.  He definitely has Adam's nose.  He has hair growing on the back of his head and he weighs 2lbs and 11oz.

Here he is!

So peaceful!

Baby Class

Last night Adam and I had our first baby class.  Adam and I were almost the oldest ones there-1 couple beat us out.  Everyone else was so young.  I felt like I was on MTV's show 16 and pregnant.  One girl had braces and another guy wore his high school letterman jacket.  SO crazy.  Everyone was super nice and the class was informative, although a lot we already knew from the books we've been reading.  Adam was hilarious, but very supportive.  It was fun but kind of long-next class I'll be a single mom as Adam will be off at the National Football convention.

Christmas Recap

Adam and I finally got home from being gone about a month just after the New Year.  We flew back from Iowa on Thursday and then spend the night in San Diego-had a Birthday lunch with Adam's family and then made the drive back to New Mexico Friday afternoon.  As we were driving we saw a bunch of fireworks at midnight.

The last month as been a whirlwind but everything turned out the best it could possibly be.   My entire family-Mom, Dad, Gerard, Carrie, Adam, and myself (Caden too of course) were all together on Christmas.  We went to church the night before to hear my dad sing in the choir and then the next day my Dad came over to have Christmas lunch with us.  It was so nice and relaxing and I'm so happy everyone was together and health.

Adam's fam-Birthday lunch
Since we live so far away from my family, and they are all talented except me, I asked them to sing lullaby's for Caden so that I could play them for him in New Mexico.  They all recorded something different and my Dad even made up a cute song for him.  It was about Caden and Blitz!  The recorded songs were my favorite Christmas gift.  I can't wait to play them all for him.
Family signing for Caden

All in all it was a great Christmas and I was so happy to be home and spend time with my family.  I loved seeing them all and I can't wait to go back.

Adam's Birthday

Sunday night we celebrated Adam's 32nd birthday at good old Rookies.  Cara came back from STL to visit for the night and some of our other friends made it out.  It's always hard celebrating Adam's birthday because of the holidays b/c everyone is either with their families or traveling.  But several people made it out and we had a great time!  Caden met all his aunties that night too, Kate, Cara and Jae Lynne.

The day before we celebrated Adam's birthday with my whole family in Iowa City.  We also celebrated Gerard's-who's on the exact same day.

Brogla Christmas and Baby shower

12/26/10 we celebrated the Brogla family Christmas.  We all headed up to Iowa City to visit my grandparents.  All the cousins were there except Cindy, who was celebrating Christmas on her boyfriends side.  It was great seeing them, my grandparents were happy to see everyone and of course we all ate at Old Country Buffet-my Grandpa's favorite place in the world.  We all were laughing so hard at lunch at all the different food creations we made and it made my Grandpa happy hearing how much fun everyone was having.

Grandma feeling the baby
Later we celebrated Lucy getting her own State Farm Agency-we had a picture of her office and her promotion letter framed and matted, it looked so great.  Geralyn did a great job.  She was very surprised and I think it will look great in her office!

After that everyone surprised Adam and I with a baby shower!  It was our first one we had!  It was so much fun and we got a lot of really cute baby things and a ton of gift cards.  We are going to save all the gift cards until the end to see what we need after all our showers are done.  The little baby cloths and all the little diapers make everything more real and real each day.  It was nice to have my first baby shower be with my family as it's the first grandchild for everyone.  I'm glad that my family and especially my grandparents were there to celebrate with us.

We ended the day with a birthday party for all the Nov-Jan bdays-basically I just got a cake that said "Happy Birthday Everyone" that way we wouldn't leave anyone out.

All in all it was an awesome day!  It's nice to be around family and I wish I lived closer to everyone, but not in that cold weather!
